First Round Notice: 19th DUT Energy and Power Cup Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Competition — International Track

To Overseas Institutions,

 

The College Student Competition on Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Science and Technology is an extracurricular science and technology works for university students. It is guided by the Teaching Steering Committee of Energy and Power Engineering under the Ministry of Education of China and organized by the National Committee of the College Student Competition on Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Social Practice and Science and Technology. The competition focuses on addressing the global challenge of carbon neutrality by soliciting scientific and technological works. After 18 years of development, it has evolved into a high-starting-point, high-quality, extensive, and influential international practical innovation activity for university students.

 

The 19th National Competition in 2026, featuring the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan & "Belt and Road" International Track, will be hosted by Dalian University of Technology. The notice is hereby released as follows.

 

I. Competition Theme

Energy Conservation, green energy and low carbon Energy.

 

II. Competition Content

Entries must closely align with the competition theme and can include physical works (including models), software, designs, etc., embodying new ideas, principles, methods, and technologies.

 

III. Competition Rules

1. Participants: Full-time college students, undergraduates, master students, and doctoral students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and countries along the "Belt and Road" and the "Maritime Silk Road" (see the Appendix of this notice). Students from Sino-foreign joint programs or programs between Mainland China and Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan (where students are eligible for a degree from the partner foreign/international institution) may enter the International Track under the name of that partner institution.

2. Each team can have a maximum of 7 members and no more than 2 supervising instructors. The team leader must be a student enrolled at an institution in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, or a "Belt and Road"/"Maritime Silk Road" country (proof of student status is required). There are no restrictions on the institutional affiliation or nationality of other team members or supervising instructors.

3. Projects that have entered the national-level judging of the Main Track (Mainland China) are not eligible for the International Track. Projects that did not advance to the national-level judging in the Main Track may collaborate with universities from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, or international institutions to enter the International Track, provided the team meets all eligibility requirements for this track.

4. Academic Integrity Commitment: Entries must be completed within the current year. Teams must submit their entries before the deadline. Failure to submit on time will be considered a waiver. All entries require an integrity commitment. Any confirmed case of academic misconduct will result in a lifetime ban for the involved students and a two-year ban for the involved instructors.

 

IV. Competition Schedule

1. Entry Submission:

Submission via Email. Please send the following completed documents via email to the dedicated International Track email address: jnjp_19_intertrack@vip.163.com, by 18:00, May 21, 2026 (The email sending time shall prevail):

① Application Form (in English, Excel file);

② Scientific/Technical Report (in English, PDF file);

③ Proof of Student Status for the team leader from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, or a foreign institution (PDF file);

④ Integrity Commitment Form (signed, PDF file);

⑤ Video file (Optional, if provided, file size not exceeding 20 MB).

The email subject must follow the format: (Entry) + Institution Name, for example: (Entry) Dalian University of Technology.

Special Reminder: The final version submitted by the deadline determines the list and order of students and instructors, which will be printed on the award certificate and cannot be changed.

2. Preliminary Review: A preliminary review will be organized based on the number of entries received.

3. Public Announcement: Entries passing the preliminary review will be announced publicly for 10 days.

4. Finals: Tentatively scheduled for July 31 - August 2, 2026, at Dalian University of Technology. Participants in the International Track may defend their projects on-site or online.

 

V. Awards

1. Awards for the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan & International Track are set separately. The award certificates will be in English, bearing the official competition seal (identical to the Main Track), and will list all participating universities/institutions affiliated with the winning team.

2. The competition establishes Platinum (can be vacant), Gold, Silver, and Bronze prizes. Winners will receive certificates. The award is equivalent to the main track.
